What does Jesus have to do with me?

What is the essence of sin? Us human beings substituting ourselves for God. We put our lives where only God deserves to be.

"For everyone has sinned ,we all fall short of God's glorious standard." Romans 3:23

"Oh, what a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is dominated by sin and death? (Rom 7:24)

No matter how many good works we try to do/bad deeds we try not to do, we will never be good enough.

"The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Rom 6:23)

God demonstrated his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8). He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification (Rom 4:25).

What is the essence of salvation? God substituting himself for us. God put himself where we deserve to be.

Jesus was a poor man. Never owned a house. Never left his own country. From his life to death, He fulfilled over 300 prophecies (things written about the one God would send to save us people) hundreds of years before his birth. Died a shameful death (a death on the cross was one of, if not the most humiliating and painful death someone can ever have). Yet, he is known all over the world today. Christians worldwide are willing to die rather than renounce their faith in Him. Who did He die for? YOU. He died so we could live, no longer for ourselves but for him who died for us and was raised to life again (2 Cor 5:15). Jesus went through the worst suffering in human history. Sentenced to death by crucifixion even though He was sinless. The disciples who wrote his biographies had nothing to gain if they falsified the documents. Many of them died for their unwavering belief in Jesus Christ (they were cowards before this). Evidence for the reliability of the Bible is compelling.

"The claims of Jesus Christ, namely his resurrection (coming back to life), has led me, as often as I have tried to examine the evidence to believe it as fact beyond dispute." Lord Caldecote, former Lord Chief Justice of England.

I don't deserve it at all. What love is this, that You gave Your life for me?
