Things Ah Ma Told Me

There are a lot of things old people have to tell. Stories of their lives, things untold..

To support my dad who was studying in England, Ah Ma planted banana trees and sold bananas at the market. Business skills don't run in the family. Ah Ma was so nervous the night before selling bananas at the market the first time, she couldn't sleep. She did it anyway, and earnt enough money for my dad and didn't need my grandpa's earnings from the barber shop! The interesting thing is..after my dad graduated and came back from england, all the banana trees died. God provided for them all along, He gives and takes away. Ah Ma says, this is why she believes Jesus is real :)

Ah Ma liked her grandpa. He bought her and her siblings sweets but she didn't like them as a child. She followed him to church every Sunday, that is why she's a Christian now.

When Lanko was 2 years old, he went to stay at Ah Ma's house for a while. He drank chrysanthemum tea everyday. Ah Ma told him "Only drink a packet a day". One day, Lanko didn't drink and he said "Ohoi (oh no in foochow) I forgot to drink today!" Hahahaha

I love my Ah Ma. :)
