Salutes to Datuk Lee Chong Wei. He really fought a brave fight at the Olympics. That match was seriously world-class. Wasn't really a fan of Datuk LCW all this while, but after watching that match, phuuuh really really respect him.
I admire his skills, sportsmanship and humility (seems pretty humble to me). Even though he lost to (the also very skilful player) Lin Dan, I just found out that he took painkillers during the match, so he is a REALLY good player to be able to play 21-15, 10-21, 19-21 while being not fully recovered from ankle and shoulder injuries.
After that match, statuses flooded Facebook (can take hours to finish reading them), "Lee Chong Wei is our hero", "Thank you Lee Chong Wei", "Please don't cry", "Nooooo no more ice-cream tomorrow" (baskin robbins promised free ice-cream if he won), and also posts on Najib's wall asking him to still give holiday the next day lol.
During the match, I made a bet with Vinko. If LCW wins, I'll hang out the clothes, if Lin Dan wins, he'll hang out the clothes. And I'm like "I WANNA HANG OUT THE CLOTHES!!"while watching the match Hahahha
I think when LCW cried, all Malaysians felt like crying with him too. I also found out from The Star that LCW skipped meals when he was young just to train badminton :S
A friend said on Facebook, that match has united all Malaysians! I agree :D
I've also begun to respect Lin Dan now, really didn't like him before, but now he doesn't SEEM arrogant.
ok why do i suddenly sound so patriotic and badminton-loving blah
Anyway...MALAYSIA BOLEH! woots Pandelela got bronze for diving!
