Borneo Highlands

On National Day, my family and Uncle James, Aunt Ivy and the little Gracey went to Borneo Highs. So we kinda forgot that it was 31th August.

The event was Colours of the Nature so I got to take lots of pictures. Not surprised that there were many photographers with all kinds of brands of cameras. Pentax, Nikon, Canon, and many other brands I didn't bother to look at.

Of course, great opportunity to bring Cameron the Camera along! It was my first time taking pictures of plants and flowers outside of my house. And out of Kuching.

The fee was RM 50 per person. When we reached the car park, they told us to pay another RM 15 per person for the tour to go up to the flower exhibition (too far to walk there).

(seen in picture: Gracey on the left, Aunty Ivy on the right)

Gracey who is 8 this year, is a potential future photographer! She was taking pictures of the flowers all along too.

We waited for the bus to take us up.

It was cooling at first,...

and then..

It was getting hotter and hotter.

Until we regretted bringing along our jackets and wearing long sleeves and long pants.

On the van,

Dad: Eh tauke can on air-con or not? (In Mandarin)

Driver: Air-con don't have , but hot-con got lah!

Heehee I love funny people. They light up the world.

So, as we reached the top, all I did was taking pictures liao lor. It was an opportunity to see how great and beautiful God's creation is! Enjoy.

I like this flower. It's cool.

I saw lots of photographers squatting down, taking pictures of the...what seemed to be the grass. So I went over and saw lots and lots of dew on the peanut flower leaves. I used the wrong lens to take the pictures, so the dew on the leaves appear to be quite far away.

Look how beaaaaaaaautiful the dew is. The blue blue thing you see here are garbage.

Brought the brightness down for these dew pictures but the effect turned out to be good! =D

(this common yellow flower we see, is actually called peanut flower!)

The spotlight of the event, is actually

The rare Eagle Flower (Bunga Helang) that only blooms in August.

Purple flower.

Brought the brightness of this picture low, low, low. Dunno whether it's a win?

So, which photo was your favourite?

That's what you do when you have a shoe and a camera on the shuttle bus. XD

Grace. A beautiful creation of God.

Rabbits. Also beautiful creations of God.

Fat fat fat rabbits. Wonder how much they eat. They weren't in cages so we were allowed to pat them as much as we can. Unlike the usual rabbits, these ones seem to enjoy us patting them. And you CAN imagine how soft their fur is. Very very soft and...silky. Wrong adjective.

Grace: I want ponyride!

This horsey looks a little mad / about to attack me. Poo seen in the back of the picture. So THAT'S why it was so stinky! >(

We also walked alllllll the way to somewhere to see Dr. Mahathir's house.

He owns this house, but no one's living here.

Note to Dr. Mahathir:
"Ehmmm hello your house very cooling leh actually but the back of your house already very dusty and then got spiderwebs also leh. Better clean up! Oh ya thanks for the fountain water that we used to wash our hands. Very cool."

(PaPa took this picture hence the disappearence)

ALL ALL ALL ALL credits to God for the
1. Great opportunity to see Your creation
2. Great parents who are willing to bring me to see Your creation
3. Great relatives who made the trip full of laughters and smiles
4. Great PaPa who gave me a camera to take pictures of Your creation
5. Great drivers who are careful on the road and joke around
6. Great creation!

Guess what? My mum got sunburnt. My mum got sunburnt on Borneo Highlands.

Smile at your own risk.
